There are a variety of feature-packed, high-performance kayaks available at the expensive end of the cost spectrum, but you'll usually have to make sacrifices when shopping at intermediate price points. However, if you look hard enough, you'll find that there are actually a few very well-equipped kayaks below the $1,000 price point. Take, for example, the Vibe Kayaks Sea Ghost 110. Build Quality, storage, comfort, stability and more are covered in our Sea Ghost 110 review.

Durable, lightweight and overflowing with storage space, the Sea Ghost 110 is an impressive option that deserves serious consideration from anglers who are trying to maximize their budget and obtain the most kayak for their money.

Pros

  • Relatively lightweight craft that many anglers will be able to carry without help
  • Included rudder system makes the kayak easy to control
  • Stable enough for most anglers to stand up while fishing

Cons

  • Despite being adjustable, some anglers found the seat a bit uncomfortable during long trips
  • No articulating rod holder provided
  • Some anglers may lament the lack of a hand control for the rudder

Build Quality

Like most other Vibe Kayaks, the Sea Ghost 110 is a sturdy, rigid and durable vessel, made from a single piece of rotomolded polyethylene. It features a number of built-in extras, such as the included transducer port, which makes it easy to mount your fish finder on the vessel, and 10 scupper holes to help drain any water that enters the sit-on-top kayak.

A removable skid plate is included with the kayak to help protect the bottom of the hull and ensure the craft lasts for years.

Storage Capacity

The Sea Ghost 110 provides plenty of space to bring along all the gear you'd like. Two large storage hatches (with bag inserts) are provided; one is located at the bow, and the other is situated behind the seat. The center console contains a spacious compartment for tackle and tools, and the console's lid provides accessory mounting points for your electronic devices or additional rod holders to go along with the two flush-mounted rod holders located behind the seat.

Two Plano tackle box holders are present in the cockpit (one on each side of the seat), and a large cargo area with bungee cords can be found behind the seat. Four integrated gear tracks, a cup holder and two quick-access paddle parks round out the storage options for this kayak.

Comfort

The Sea Ghost 110 proves that you don't have to spend a fortune to obtain a comfortable ride. This kayak provides a roomy cockpit with plenty of leg room (and adjustable foot braces to help you find a comfortable paddling position), and the included dual-position seat can be adjusted in several ways to provide the maximum comfort for your body.

Anglers who choose to stand up while fishing will find that the Sea Ghost 110 provides plenty of room for your feet.

Stability

One of the hallmarks of the Sea Ghost line is the stability provided by the individual models, and the Sea Ghost 110 is no exception. With a 33-inch beam, the Sea Ghost 110 provides a very stable ride, that will help you paddle and fish with confidence.

Additionally, most anglers will find the kayak stable enough to permit standing. You'll also find that the Sea Ghost 110's 425-capacity allows you to bring along as much gear as you'd like and battle big fish without fear of tipping.

Maneuverability

Despite measuring 11 feet in length, the Sea Ghost 110 weighs only 62 pounds, making it very easy to transport. It also features four easy-grip carrying handles, which makes it a breeze to carry from your car to the water and back.

Once on the water, the Sea Ghost 110 is quite nimble and is easy to pilot through crowded waters or narrow passages. It tracks really well for a lightweight craft, thanks in part to the built-in keel and toe-controlled rudder system.

Summary

The Sea Ghost 110 is a very high-quality kayak that has almost everything an angler could want. It provides plenty of storage space for your gear and tackle, features accessory gear tracks and mounting points that will allow you to add your own rod holders, electronics and other equipment, and it is buoyant enough that you don't have to worry about weighing it down with your gear.

It performs very well on the water, comes equipped with a rudder system that makes it easy to control and is faster than you'd expect an 11-foot-long, 33-inch-wide craft to be.
